FALL COLOUR

I think Fall is my favourite time of year. It's still warm out but not too warm and I love the colours of the season.

Driving Marcus to school today got me thinking of how wonderful the colours are and that I don't have anything in my entry way for Thanksgiving.

All I needed was 10 minutes, a power drill and a pumpkin and flowers from Michael's.

I loved it so much I made one for Marcus' school - their office needed the wonderful colours too!

Halloween card

Saturday was scrap day. I got to spend some treasured time with some amazing women. I love these days.

I'm also very thankful for them as they are farther apart than I would like. It wouldn't have happened if my mother-in-law Hazel hadn't taken Marcus for most of the weekend. Terry is busier than ever writing a paper and studying as well as preparing for his classes he needs to teach this week.  I have an amazing mother-in-law.

Now getting together to scrapbook or whatever the craft is we are doing one would think that we would get actual projects done. Nope that's not the case most of the time.

This weekend I did get some cards done for the kids in my dayhome for halloween. I got to use an embossing folder  from Cuttlebug (spider web),  then inked it in Stampin Up black in, then used my cricut for the spider and the moon (doodlecharms) and inside the card I used Martha Stewart Halloween stamp. I think they are cute for the lil ones.

It's just a label

I think I might have a slight case of OCD with certain things. Well Terry would say I have a huge OCD case with storage containers and labelling things. I love them - I buy them and hide them and I buy labels and write on them and label everything.

Another thing I love to do is flip through all the flyers that come to our door. Terry hates it because he knows I'm going to find something and buy it. You know he is probably right which is the reason he throws out my flyers before I see them or at least tries to. I have been known to dumpster dive!

Yesterday I got flyers and found the STAPLES one. BIG GRIN ON MY FACE and a phone call to Terry to stop for me on his way home and for $24.99 plus GST I got me a labeller! (crowd goes wild)

See isn't it pretty!  And yes Eryn and Heather (my scrappin' divas) it's PINK

And it isn't just for scrapbooking - it's for my pantry which when groceries are bought are put into the proper storage container which is labelled!

I am also using it for my dayhome I run. All the toys are in their own containers (of course) and now are labelled what they so the kids can learn the words and my OCD will be kept in check. It does symbols as well so I'm quite excited to use it for every container in my home and according to Terry I have a zillion.

Ok have to jet because it's quiet time which means I can go and label some scrapbooking items with my intials.

My Woman Cave

All men have or at least majority of them out there want a Man Cave. My husband is no exception. He has our bonus room and has had it since the day we moved into our house 10 years ago. Being a mom as well I kind of just let Marcus take over the living room and I guess you can say that I have never really had a space in the house that was just mine. That was until now!

I'm so excited - it's been a long haul and after a 2 year renovation it's 95% done and I have my own dream craft space. Terry has been hilarious with it and not only building me my furniture insisting that I get more. Who am I to argue. IKEA CHARGE IT! Yes Eryn I am in need of a IKEA intervention!

My space has turned out to be my dream space - it's just how I envisioned it.

This is my blank canvas

The storage that Terry built from IKEA

It's starting to look great

Terry insisted more storage space - bought me more! :)
My desk is a drafting table I got at Michael's

I painted my old bulletin board to match my furniture and doesn't my BIG BUG look great there!

I truly think every woman should have space where they can feel happy and a place to dream. The rest of the room will be done shortly and it's a place where there is room for some of my great friends that can come and create with me.  This space is my WOMAN CAVE!

Back 2 school

It's that time of year again where every parent is singing "It's the most wonderful time of the year". I am happy it's Back to school but I'm not. This year not only does Marcus go into grade 5 but my husband will be teaching full time and being a full time student. I guess that makes me a crazy mom/wife for the next 2 years. I'm ok with it though because I may get some extra crafting done while he is cracking open the books.

I started to craft again after a long hiatus. It's been great and here is a BACK TO SCHOOL WREATH. I love it and in fact have to make another as I gave this to a wonderful teacher at my son's school and it was so easy to do.
